Ben Ho advises clients on domestic and cross-border employment matters arising throughout the employment relationship. Mr. Ho also frequently counsels clients on employment law matters arising from domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, and global corporate reorganizations.

Matias Herrero is a partner in Baker McKenzie's Buenos Aires office. He routinely advises on a broad scope of employment matters, including executive and massive terminations, companies’ closing, local and international executive hirings, and employee compensation and benefits.

Andrew Shaw is a partner in the Firm's Employment & Compensation Law Group. Prior to attending law school, Andrew held labour relations/human resources positions at both private and public sector companies. In these roles, he managed workplace disputes and grievances to an appropriate resolution, assisted internal clients with the interpretation of employment-related legislation, and provided counsel to senior management as required. Andrew assists clients with all aspects of the employment relationship, both unionized and non-unionized, in the province of Ontario and throughout Canada. He advises and represents employers in matters regarding employment standards, wrongful dismissals, human rights, labour relations/arbitration, union organizing, collective bargaining, occupational health and safety, pay equity, and workplace investigations.

Daniela Liévano Bahamón graduated from Los Andes University, focused on Labor and Employment Law in the Javeriana University in Bogota, and coursed a master in laws in Columbia University, New York. Daniela is a partner in the Labor and Employment practice since January 2024.

Liliana Hernandez-Salgado is a partner in Baker McKenzie's Mexico City office. Named a Rising Star in The Legal 500 2019 review, she counsels clients on matters related to labor and employment law. Liliana has 12 years' experience in providing domestic and cross-border strategic consulting as well as advice on employment and compensation matters. She has vast knowledge in areas of employment law associated with corporate reorganizations and mergers and acquisitions.

Clarissa Lehmen joined the Firm in 2014. She integrates the employment & compensation practice group, with focus on employment advisory, assisting companies in strategic matters. Clarissa has a wide breadth of experience in strategic matters, including defining and implementing strategies for labor matters relating to C-level executives, benefits harmonization, expatriation, outsourcing, due diligence audits related to Mergers & Acquisitions, retention schemes, Stock Options and negotiations with labor unions.

Joseph Deng is a partner in the Employment & Compensation Practice Group based in Baker McKenzie's Los Angeles office with a focus in global employment. With over 20 years of experience, Mr. Deng advises major U.S. and other multinational companies on employment matters around the world with a focus on Europe and the Asia-Pacific region. He has advised on workforce expansions, international transactions, employee transfers, workforce restructuring, codes of conduct, compliance matters and employee investigations with the only international law firm to be ranked Band 1 in both Global Employment and Global Immigration.

Michael has more than 15 years' experience as an employment law and industrial relations lawyer, acting for clients in a range of industries, including banking and finance, insurance, health and pharmaceuticals, telecommunications, real estate, media and entertainment, information technology and professional services. He has developed and published compliance programs and best practice policies locally and within Asia Pacific. He is the author and a developer of CCH’s Employment Contracts Manager, a software package that builds and tailors smart employment contracts. He has also authored a large number of chapters in every edition of CCH’s Australian Master Human Resources Guide. Articles written by Michael on employment law topics have appeared in the Melbourne University Law Review, CFO Magazine, Human Capital, Lawyers Weekly, Human Resources, and CCH’s Employment Law Bulletin. He has also spoken at events arranged by the College of Law, Macquarie Graduate School of Management, and various professional associations. He wrote and produced “Dismissal Impossible,” a training video on unfair dismissal and sexual harassment, for the Australian Stock Exchange. Michael regularly conducts employment-related litigation before State and Federal courts and industrial tribunals at an original and appellate level.

Mr.Yue’s practice focuses on PRC employment issues in an advisory and transactional context. He advised on the employee consultation and employee transfer aspects of mergers and acquisitions, and provided executive hiring and terminations, workforce restructuring and downsizing, senior employee relocation/global mobility, confidentiality and non-competition, compliance and investigation, data privacy and other day-to-day employment law advice to various companies.

Tomohisa Muranushi is a member of the Firm's Corporate/M&A Practice Group in Tokyo and has eighteen years of legal experience working in Japan. He co-authored M&A Handbook on Conducting Business Practically and the Japan chapter on Cross-border Labour and Employee Benefits Handbook. Tomohisa has also worked at the San Francisco and Bangkok offices of Baker McKenzie.

Kenneth Chua is a partner and the head of Quisumbing Torres' Employment Practice Group. He is also a member of the Financial Institutions and Technology, Media & Telecommunications Industry Groups. He participates in initiatives of Baker & McKenzie International of which Quisumbing Torres is a member firm. He is a member of Baker McKenzie’s Asia Pacific Employment & Compensation Steering Committee. He has 23 years of experience advising clients on various labor and employment issues, including compensation and benefits, employment contract and employee handbook. Kenneth serves as the legal counsel (representing Quisumbing Torres) for the Global In-House Center Council Philippines (GICC). He sits in the Tripartite Executive Committee and the National Tripartite Industrial Peace Council of the Department of Labor and Employment as representative of the employer sector. He is consistently recognized as a Leading Lawyer in Employment by the Chambers Asia Pacific, Benchmark Litigation and asialaw profiles. He is ranked Hall of Fame in Employment by the Legal 500 Asia Pacific. He is also among Asia Business Law Journal’s inaugural “A-List” of the Top 100 lawyers in the Philippines.

Celeste is a principal in our Dispute Resolution and Employment Practice Groups. Her practice encompasses corporate and commercial dispute resolution, investigations and compliance. She has significant experience acting for global clients in cross-border disputes and advising clients on ethics & compliance and regulatory issues in the context of risks analysis and mitigation and cross-border investigations. Celeste also has a particular focus in employment, particularly contentious employment work and employee investigations.
Celeste has been recognised as a 'Litigation Star' in the Labor and Employment space by Benchmark Litigation Asia Pacific 2023 and has been ranked Band 1 in Employment in Singapore by Chambers Asia-Pacific since 2019 to date. A client has commended Celeste for being "a fantastic partner who knows our industry well and has been our first contact for external legal work for many years." Celeste is also ranked as a Leading Individual in Labour and Employment in Singapore by Legal 500 Asia Pacific since 2019 and noted by clients as "an experienced litigator with a very sound knowledge of the law, who is also able to consider the client’s commercial concerns when providing advice" and in the foreign firms section as "great at connecting her entire network when the client needs additional service outside Singapore."

Thuy Hang Nguyen is a partner in Baker McKenzie's Ho Chi Minh City office and the head of the Employment and Labor, and Compliance and Investigations practices in Vietnam.
Her diverse working experience, broad knowledge in various areas of law, and business management qualifications allows her to provide clients with practical and commercially savvy legal advice, and to create effective, strategic and innovative solutions for her clients to navigate around the ever-changing legal landscape of Vietnam.
As head of Baker McKenzie Vietnam’s Employment and Labor practice, Hang is in charge of developing and providing strategy for the practice, training and coaching team members and coordinating the global and regional employment practices when related to Vietnam. She is a member of the Steering Committees for the Firm's JAO and Asia Pacific Employment Practice Groups, and the Global Immigration and Mobility Group. Hang is also a leading authority and frequent speaker on employment and labor law in Vietnam and the Asia Pacific region.

Lucille Vallet practices in the Labor Group of Baker McKenzie in Paris. After having studied law both in France and in the United states, Lucille was trained in the French employment law teams of major French and International firms, and she also worked within the employment law team of the company Robert Bosch (France) SAS and within the Labor Court of Paris. Lucille is admitted to the Paris Bar since 2014.

Dr. Bernhard Trappehl chairs the EMEA Employment Practice Group and manages relationships with several of the Firm’s largest clients. He served as managing partner of the Firm’s German/Austrian offices between 2007 and 2012. He frequently speaks at seminars and provides in-house trainings on a wide range of employment matters, and regularly contributes to publications, books, newspapers and law journals.

Danielle advises multinationals and provides services across the entire spectrum of employment and employee participation law. Danielle has a strong winning track record in the field of employment litigation and won several significant court cases for multinational clients. Most recently, she assisted a multinational in a court case in which the employee submitted a claim to the court of approximately EUR 400,000. The court rejected the claim and in the ruling specifically pointed out the extensive and thorough defense.

Ester Maza is a partner in Baker McKenzie's Madrid office, where she practices in employment law. Prior to joining the Firm in 2000, she worked as a legal adviser to Kronsa Internacional S.A. She has served as associate professor of employment law at Carlos III University Law School in Madrid since 2005. She also regularly lectures in several executive and post-graduate masters programs at different prestigious institutions. Ms. Maza has participated in the drafting and updating of various employment-related Ediciones Francis Lefèbvre publications. She also regularly contributes articles to specialized employment and HR-related journals.

Ghada El Ehwany heads the Firm's corporate and commercial practice in Egypt. She has nearly 20 years’ experience in the Middle East, particularly in Egypt, Saudi Arabia and the UAE, focusing on corporate and commercial transactions. Ghada was formerly a counsel and Knowledge Manager of the UAE offices having been based in Dubai since 2013, and has returned to Baker McKenzie’s Cairo office, Helmy, Hamza & Partners, where she has previously worked for 14 years.

Christiana joined Baker McKenzie in 2014 and leads the Saudi Employment & Compensation team. She actively advises both Saudi Arabian and foreign clients on strategic employment law matters including restructurings, mergers and acquisitions and outsourcings in addition to day-to-day employment law support such as employment contracts, internal policies, terminations, Saudization and nationalization requirements.
