Through Joint Resolution 1/25 by the Department of Industry and Commerce and the Department of State Transformation and Public Function, the Public Competition Regulations for the appointment of senior officials of the future National Competition Authority (ANC) have been approved.

In focus

Nearly nine years after the enactment of the Competition Defense Law 27442, the National Executive Branch has initiated the process to establish the ANC. The publication of these regulations marks the beginning of the process for forming the shortlists of candidates that will be submitted to the Senate. The establishment of the ANC aims to create an independent administrative body that institutionalizes competition law in Argentina. Additionally, it is expected that the ANC’s establishment will introduce a pre merger and acquisition control regime one year after its inception.
