In 2019, a number of significant changes in the healthcare area were introduced, including, among other things, the extension of procurement by specialized procurement agencies until 31 March 2022, introduction of external reference pricing for certain pharmaceuticals sold at public tenders and imposition of stricter criminal liability for falsification of pharmaceuticals.

In 2020, a number of other important changes will be introduced, including launch of the healthcare financing reform at all levels of medical care, new public procurement procedure and others.
